Was Anne Boleyn sure that she would have been executed by a Henry who was fawning all over her not long ago? The guy established a new Church of England and broke away from the Catholic Church just to get married to Anne Boleyn. This was a very major event in an England and medieval Europe where religion was extremely important and kings/emperors dispensers of destiny.
She was accused of having an affair with her brother and countless others? Who are we to judge or know whether she had some romantic/sensual interludes or not? She could well have been a somewhat pious believer in God like many others at the time and not done anything. Anyways, my answer to this question is that an answer here even from a person who has extensively researched the time period would still be speculation.
Maybe, a better insight into her motives can be obtained by reading historical accounts or even fictionalized narratives. But, the danger in every case are the sympathies of the reader/viewer. You can see an example of this with the latest Season of the Crown and renewed interest in the menage-a-trois of Camilla, Charles and Diana. You probably knew who people will have affection for in a relatively well-known thing from merely 3 decades ago. Still, we don’t know for sure what went on in Kensington and Buckingham palace in the 80s and 90s. We are talking about 500 years back, the scene becomes even more murky.
