Sherlock Holmes was a favourite in childhood, and I used to read the Conan Doyle books many times.

Well- a favourite incident/deduction. Very distraught after the death of Sherlock Holmes in ‘The Final Problem’ at Reichenbach falls, I was thrilled when Watson meets him again in ‘The Adventure of the Empty House’.

He does not recognize the elderly deformed book collector. Holmes with his penchant for theatricality regales him with his tall accounts of adventures in Tibet, Persia, the Khalifa in Khartoum and research in Montpelier. He reveals his alias of Sigerson, a Norwegian explorer and that Mycroft, his brother assisted him, with money that he needed. This is one of the most memorable/favourite incidents among a whole host of others.
