What is the depth of the Strait of Malacca?

The Strait of Malacca connects the Andaman sea(Indian Ocean) and the South China sea(Pacific Ocean). Running between the Indonesian Island of Sumatra to the West; and peninsular(West) Malaysia and extreme southern Thailand to the east; it has an area of 25000 square miles(65000 square kilometres).

Average minimum depth is 82 feet(25 metres). Depths in the main shipping channels vary from 14.9 to over 100 metres.
