Ptolemy, one of the seven somatophylakes(bodyguards) serving as Alexander’s generals and deputies was appointed satrap of Egypt; after his death in 323 B.C. In 305 B.C; he declared himself king Ptolemy I; also known as Soter(Savior).

His mother is said to be Arsinoe of Macedon, and, while his father is unknown, ancient stories variously describe him either as the son of Lagus, a Macedonian nobleman, or as an illegitimate son of Philip II of Macedon(which will make him Alexander’s half-brother).

Cleopatra VII(born 69 B.C, the last one; related to Caesar and Mark Antony) was the daughter of Ptolemy VII Auletres; seventh generation after Ptolemy I. This is how she may have looked actually.
